About Grunge Fashion: Trust Me It Is Not Hipster
Reblogged from Pinky Jinx
I personally feel that many people mistake grunge for other fashions, Grunge fashion started from grunge music such as Nirvana and other bands. The style is very highly influenced by punk and goth fashion, and some staple items in grunge fashion include denim, clashing pasterns, plaid, and other things that could be influenced by punk fashion such as spikes. Hair can be natural shades ,or even more dramatic in washed out colors such as greens and even pastel and bright neons are seen in grunge fashion as well. New grunge is influenced by girly attire such as floral prints and pastels, or in other words things that give an outfit more of a feminine touch such as maxi skirts or even dresses.
Many people think grunge is hipster, but grunge is not hipster. Hipsters take ideas from things they like: to once again explain the word hipster, they follow trends and wear things that are in style, like using second hand clothing and wearing trade mark clothing. Hipster fashion to me is not a really set fashion and I really am not a fan. The whole idea of hipsters wearing black lipstick and crosses is totally off from what they claim to be- as you can tell not all hipsters look the same- I don't believe it is even a style if you take so many ideas from other things, and completely change what it is meant to be.
